Hello, Annyeonghaseyo! Erica Dozier is the creator of Korean Convenience. She is a freelance creative writer, blogger, entrepreneur, food enthusiast and K-pop music lover who enjoys fantasy storytelling with a touch of romance.
She lives in Los Angeles, CA where she had several jobs as an administrative assistant, closed caption technician and a cable/internet technical support representative. Erica graduated from California State University Northridge where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Screenwriting with a minor in Creative Writing.
How It All Started
The beginning of her travel adventure began with an introduction to Korean dramas and music. After studying the Korean language, she followed her love for the local cuisine and desire to become immersed in the culture all the way to Seoul, South Korea.
The Merriam Webster dictionary defines the word “convenience” as; “The state of being able to proceed with something with little effort or difficulty.” As a foreigner, she experienced the love, frustration and time-consuming task of trying to figure out how to do laundry, order food at nearby restaurants, subway travel and a whole host of other daily tasks. If you want to know a more detailed story check out her Travel Diary.
This is her experience of how little by little, learning Hangul in her Korean Language class, a small interaction with a cashier at E-mart or watching the latest K-drama, she embraced living abroad.
